also the other really interesting thing about modern family is it plays into the really old trope of married couples always fighting/disagreeing over things (name the last episode where cameron or mitchell wasn’t mad at the other one at some point) and are opposites (claire’s high strung but phil’s more relaxed! cameron’s goofy and flamboyant but mitchell’s reserved!...
i love how modern family resorted to a ~women are crazy when they’re on their periods~ storyline whereas happy endings had a a gay couple talk about their differences about wanting kids later. is it really a debate over which one is more progressive?
when will period jokes go the way of “what’s the deal with airplane food??”
